Exhibit index: what it is

Exhibit index: definition

Key answer

The exhibit index is the table of contents of the whole petition package, where every piece of evidence is numbered (Exhibit 1, 2, ...) with a title and page. The officer navigates the case by the index, and the cover letter references the exhibit numbers.

A good index groups exhibits by criterion and makes the petition readable: the officer finds the proof behind every claim in minutes. Sloppy structure is a typical way strong evidence gets lost.

Package formatting rules (format, numbering, printing) are collected in the KB; the packet tool generates a printable index with through-numbering.

  • «Your activity should be ongoing: competitions, judging, media, participating in events - to prove the sustained, continuing nature of your work.»

  • «If you're a member of an organization and attach this - it'll count toward well-advanced. Or it won't count, if the officer has a question about this organization. It's like with articles: it can be 0, or it can be 100.»

  • «Look at the criteria, they're written in general terms regardless of profession: leading role, contribution, media and publications, association membership, judging, salary. Are you satisfying them? Then go ahead. Then the variety begins: athletes can realistically satisfy judging and membership, scientists - publications and contribution through citations, media personalities - publications about them in the press.»
