Form DS-160: definition
Key answer
After the I-129 is approved, the O-1 visa is issued at a consulate. To book you need: the completed DS-160, the MRV fee receipt, a passport valid at least six months beyond your planned stay, a 2x2-inch photo and a working email.
For the O-1 you can book at almost any consulate worldwide, unlike EB-1 and EB-2 where the interview is assigned by country of residence. Booking is done online on the appointment portal after the fee is paid.

«When I filed my EB-1A case on my own, I included materials for Leading or Critical Role, but by mistake I merged them with Original Contributions and didn't break them out separately. Only after getting the RFE did I realize this was wrong. Can I add this criterion separately when responding to the RFE?»

«For the EB it's all the same as for the O-1, but with increased weight. For developers you need major projects where you were indispensable and can prove it; work at very large and well-known companies; talks at specialized conferences; judging at IT contests; several interviews about you in media at the RBC level; recommendation letters from weighty figures; a job offer in the US.»

«The consul works by clear rules. His task is to prove to himself that you're an immigrant, and your task is the opposite: who beats whom. You either play this game by the rules or you don't. After all, it's you who needs the US, not the consul.»
