Ledeneva is very good with appeals - people note that specifically. If a case has already been denied, she is worth approaching for exactly that.

I spoke with her in a consultation; she seemed fairly reserved and detached, though she may be different in the actual work. I have not come across bad reviews of her.

I paid for a 45-minute consultation, but on the call the attorney was reluctant to engage and I literally had to pull information out of her; within about 20 minutes it was clear she was not inclined to take my case. Maybe the profile just was not a fit, but the format left a bad aftertaste.

A mundane but real downside: she takes consultation payments via PayPal, to which no Russian card binds after 2022 - I had to look for workarounds to transfer the money. Budget time for payment if you are not in the US.

I went to her for a 150-dollar consultation (45 minutes) about my denial and a plan for a second attempt. It was all by phone over a messenger, she does not review documents in advance or show them on the call; we went over the evidence briefly, and to my mind there was no in-depth analysis. For a deep audit of a denial this format may not be enough.

Slow responses are arguably her only well-known downside. A tip from the chat: just follow up more often and across several channels, and it all works out.

At first we got an email with a list of what to provide for the work; we sent everything - and then silence. In the end we moved to another attorney. Per reviews this is about slow replies rather than case quality.
